Yanks could have pitching edge in ALCS
The Rays and Rangers might be doing the Yanks a favor by extending the Division Series to a fifth and deciding game.
How, you ask? Well, Texas is scheduled to start Cliff Lee and Tampa Bay will go with David Price in Tuesday's primetime game on TBS.
The American League Championship Series starts Friday in Texas or Florida, so that burns either starter for Game 1. It probably pushes tomorrow's winner to next Monday at Yankee Stadium.
That eliminates either ace from pitching in his own ballpark in the first two games of the ALCS.
Meanwhile, the Yankees will have well rested CC Sabathia ready to go in Game 1.
