The captain has built his reputation on pressure situations. Derek Jeter and the Yankees have that right now. A three-game series in Tampa Bay will not decide the division race, but winning two of three would help alleviate the discomfortment of what just happend in Texas. Losing three straight to the Rangers was not a good move before playing the Rays, only a half game behind the Yankees.

Derek Jeter had a double in two official two at-bats Sunday. He is 8-for-63. He has 2,900 career hits but it struggling to regain the swing that made his a .317 lifetime hitter.

This is not  a post season game, but both teams are only three weeks away from that  opportunity.

Jeter needs to get in gear. Starting tonight.
