It wasn't Carl Crawford or Evan Longoria who did in the Yankees during the series with Tampa Bay.

It was bit players Reid Brignac and Dan Johnson. Brignac hit a pinch-hit walk-off homer Monday night, then Dan Johnson hit two two-run homers on Wednesday.

If the pair do nothing the rest of the year--Johnson has played in only 25 mahor league games--they already did enough to help Tampa hold a slight lead in the AL East.

Meanwhile, the Yankees got next to nothing from their second line players. Outfielder Greg Golson did have a mighty assist by throwing out Crawford at third base to seal Tuesday's win for the Yankees, but he and fellow reserve outfielders Austin Kearns and Colin Curtis went a combined 3-for-23 at the plate.
