GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Tyson Chandler went to high school in the Los Angeles area, but with no NFL team there, he became a 49ers fan.
So who is the Knicks center rooting for in Sunday's Niners-Giants NFC Championship Game?
He wouldn't say.
"What are you trying to do here?" he jokingly asked a reporter who wondered about his rooting interest in front of cameras from many of New York's TV stations after Knicks practice Tuesday.
"One, two, three, four cameras," Chandler said. "I'll have all of these Giants fans -- crazy Giants fans, crazy New Yorkers -- chasing me on the street. I don't need that action. I wear boots, too. I'm not that fast in my boots. No comment."
Carmelo Anthony, a Ravens fan because of his Baltimore roots, was willing to state his preference. He's rooting for a pair of underdog victories on Sunday.
"I like the Giants," he said. "Giants-Ravens in the Super Bowl."
