D'Antoni To Miss World Championships ...

The Knicks confirmed today that head coach Mike D'Antoni will not accompany Team USA to turkey for the World Championships later this month due to a back problem.

D'Antoni, an assistant for Team USA, will be at Team USA at practices next week in New York.

Though he is not expected to need surgery, he likely will undergo treatment and rehabilitation before the Knicks' training camp begins in late September, according to ESPN.

Raptors coach Jay Triano, a member of the Team USA coaching staff, is expected to take D'Antoni's spot on alongside head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
