The hiring of Phil Jackson as Knicks president last March generated significant excitement about the team and gave hope to fans awaiting the first championship since 1973.
In the seven months since Jackson took over basketball operations for the Knicks, he has taken big strides in transforming the Knicks, including bringing in a new coach in Derek Fisher and trading for draft picks.
With the Knicks set to begin the 2014-15 NBA season on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Madison Square Garden against the Chicago Bulls -- the team Jackson first had coaching success with -- here is a look at how Jackson is putting his stamp on the New York Knicks, including video and audio analysis of those moves by Newsday’s Knicks beat writer Al Iannazzone.
