Jalen Brunson underwent a minor surgical procedure to repair an injury to his left wrist according to a league source, correcting an issue he played through as he led the Knicks to an NBA title.

It may have shown little as he poured in 45 points in the clinching Game 5 of the NBA Finals, but Brunson played through the pain and now will rehabilitate. He is expected to resume basketball activities this summer.

Brunson averaged 28.4 points per game in the postseason after earning second team All-NBA honors during the regular season. He averaged 32.6 points per game in the NBA Finals. He never revealed an injury but shot an uncharacteristic 4-for-22 from three-point range in the Eastern Conference finals against Cleveland and then 42.1% overall in the NBA Finals.
