The resale market for Knicks tickets showed signs of softening early on the morning of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference final against the Pacers But only in a relative sense.

Tickets remain very expensive, and more expensive than in the other three markets with teams still alive in the NBA playoffs.

As of early Wednesday morning, the least expensive ticket listed on StubHub.com was $584. Not bad, if you compare it to $763 on Monday morning.

Prices often drop as the start of an event nears, so fans willing and able to wait until close to Wednesday night’s 8 p.m. tipoff at Madison Square Garden figured to do even better – but there are no guarantees.

The most expensive asking price on StubHub for Game 1 was $79,137 each for a pair of tickets in section VIP W, Row AA.

The least expensive asking price for Game 2 on Friday at the Garden was $722 on Wednesday morning.

A Knicks fan willing to travel to Indianapolis on Indy 500 weekend – or one who lives near Indianapolis – could do better than that for Game 3 on Sunday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The “get-in,” or lowest, price for that game as of early Wednesday was $340.

What about the Western Conference? Tickets for Game 2 of Timberwolves at Thunder on Thursday night were going for as low as $158.
