Mike Woodson won't rush Jeremy Lin's return

But Woodson said Tuesday night he hasn't been given any indication that Lin could be back sooner than the roughly six-week timetable given after he had his left knee scoped Monday to repair a chronic small meniscus tear.
"I don't know," Woodson said. "I hope so. I would love to get him back but you can't rush any kind of major injury like that. He had major surgery. A lot of it's going to depend on the doctors and how he feels. I'd hate to rush him back and he reinjures himself and he's really done for the rest of the year if he's able to get back."
"He's a Cinderella story and everyone loves such a story," Stern said at an NBA event Tuesday. "It resonated not only in New York but around the world."
"He was drugged," Chandler said.
Former Indiana coach Bob Knight told ESPN New York that the Knicks would be "idiotic" if they didn't bring back Woodson next season. Woodson, who played for Knight, appreciated his former coach supporting him.
"That's coach Knight," Woodson said. "I've got a great deal of respect for coach Knight, and he has a great deal of respect for me . . . I wouldn't expect him probably to say anything less than that.
"Again, that's really not my concern at this particular time. My concern is what's ahead of us these last 13 games."
