OKLAHOMA CITY — As the Knicks reached the final stop of their five-game, seven-night road trip, they did it without Derrick Rose and Cam Reddish.

Reddish suffered a strained groin Friday and sat out the final two games of the trip. Rose played less than eight minutes Sunday in Phoenix before he was ruled out with a sore toe. He then was held out Monday.

Asked if Rose needed an X-ray, coach Tom Thibodeau said, “Nah, I don’t think so. We’ll see, be re-examined when we get back. Just some soreness.”

McBride steps in

Miles McBride had played only 13 minutes all season, nearly all in the final minutes of games that were out of reach, but with Rose sidelined, he got to play nearly 14 minutes Sunday. McBride scored nine points and shot 4-for-6.

“Good energy, good ball pressure,” Thibodeau said. “It’s good to see him out there. He’s worked extremely hard. So I’m expecting good things from him.”

Robinson wearing brace

Mitchell Robinson made his return Sunday after being sidelined more than two weeks with a sprained right knee. He was available Monday, playing with a brace that he said bothers him and keeps him from playing freely.

“He’s fine,” Thibodeau said. “He’ll get used to it. Just like anything else, the more you do it, the more you get comfortable with it. We’ll see where he is today.”

With Robinson back, Thibodeau said before Sunday’s game that he likely would play only two centers, with Jericho Sims the likely odd man out. But Isaiah Hartenstein got the start, Robinson appeared when Hartenstein got into early foul trouble and Sims spelled him off the bench.

“Just the way it unfolded,” Thibodeau said. “I think Isaiah picking up the two early fouls changed the way things were. We didn’t know where Mitch would be in terms of his conditioning.”
