GREENBURGH, N.Y. - New York may be Carmelo Anthony's choice destination, but he might settle for New Jersey. He reportedly is the centerpiece of a four-team trade between the Nets, Nuggets, Bobcats and Jazz.

According to Internet reports, the Nets would trade first-round pick Derrick Favors and Devin Harris and receive Anthony from Denver and guard D.J. Augustin from Charlotte. The Nuggets would acquire Favors and a 2012 first-round pick from the Nets, plus the Jazz's Andrei Kirilenko.

A Knicks official shrugged off the proposed deal Friday. Sources close to Anthony have said his top choice is the Knicks, but the Nuggets have made it clear they are not interested in the Knicks' trade pieces.

An NBA source told Newsday that the Knicks aren't being aggressive enough. The Knicks would prefer to wait to sign Anthony as a free agent next summer. The Nuggets, however, want to trade him before he bolts to avoid a LeBron James-Cavaliers situation.

Anthony was born in Brooklyn. The Nets are set to move to Brooklyn's new Barclay Center for the 2012-13 season after playing the next two seasons in Newark.
