Knicks win despite Wilt scoring 67
Wilt Chamberlain of the Philadelphia Warriors scored 67 points but it wasn't enough as the Knicks defeated the host team, 149-135. Richie Guerin scored 50 to lead the Knicks. Chamberlain would score 100 when the teams met a week later in Hershey, Pa. The 7-1 center averaged 50.4 points and 25.7 rebounds in his third season in the NBA. Guerin averaged 29.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 6.9 assists for the Knicks, who were 29-51 and missed the playoffs.
