Tina Charles had 18 points, five rebounds and four assists to help the New York Liberty beat San Antonio 73-45 on Wednesday night for their first road victory over the Stars since 2011.

Earlier this season, the Liberty beat the Stars in New York to snap a six-game losing streak in the series.

Epiphanny Prince and Brittany Boyd added 10 points apiece for New York (17-7), which is off to its best start in franchise history.

New York raced to a 24-12 first-quarter lead, outscoring the Stars 16-5 over the last 5 minutes. The Liberty scored the first 12 points of the second quarter, holding the Stars scoreless until Jayne Appel's jumper at the 3:34 mark. San Antonio scored six points in the second quarter and seven in the fourth.

Kayla McBride led San Antonio (7-19) with 11 points, all in the third quarter. The Stars were held to a season low in points, playing without injured guard Danielle Robinson (ankle).
