The Liberty were hoping to bounce back Wednesday night from Sunday’s home loss to Chicago. But that attempt will have to wait until Friday night in Atlanta.

Their game at Barclays Center against Minnesota was postponed Wednesday afternoon.

The Liberty stated in a release that it was “due to the poor air quality in the New York City area impacting Barclays Center following the wildfires in Canada. The city has been placed under an Air Quality Health Advisory until Thursday morning. This decision has been made to protect the health and safety of our fans, teams and community.”

The game will be rescheduled. The new date hasn’t been announced.

Those fans with tickets to Wednesday night’s game will automatically be able to use them for the makeup. The Liberty’s next scheduled game at Barclays Center is at 1 p.m. Sunday against Dallas.

The Liberty dropped to 4-2 after turning over a 19-point third-quarter lead and falling to the Sky, 86-82.

During the media availability at the morning shootaround for the Minnesota game, Stefanie Dolson said some Liberty veterans had spoken to the team after the defeat.

“We just kind of spoke to . . . just putting 40 minutes together,” the 10th-year center said. “Although it was a loss, it was a learning experience. We’d rather something like that happen in game 6 than game 30. … But it was definitely a tough one to swallow.”
