New York Liberty guard Kamiko Williams will miss the 2014 season with a torn right anterior cruciate ligament the team announced on Thursday.

Williams suffered the knee injury on Tuesday in practice. The second-year pro was drafted in the second round last season. She appeared in all 34 games, starting 18 of them. She averaged 2.6 points and 2.1 rebounds.

Williams was coming off a strong season overseas in which she averaged 15.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game for Elitzur Maclaren Holon of the Israeli League.

New York opens its season on May 16 at Connecticut.
