NEWARK, N.J. — The New Jersey Nets have signed forward Gerald Green for the remainder of the season.

The deal was announced Sunday, but contract terms were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-8 Green, MVP of the NBA’s Development League’s All-Star game this season, had previously signed two consecutive 10-day contracts with the Nets. He’s played in 11 games this season, averaging nearly 12 points and three rebounds. He’s also reached double figures in each of the last five games.

Green entered the 2005 NBA draft out of high school and was the 18th overall pick, selected by the Boston Celtics. He played two seasons for the Celtics and won the 2007 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. He later played for Houston, Minnesota and Dallas.
