The Nets announced that Thomas Robinson sustained a small meniscus tear in his right knee while working out Tuesday in New York.
Robinson will undergo arthroscopic surgery Wednesday, according to the team.
Robinson, a 6-9 forward, signed a multi-year contract with the Nets last week. Robinson agreed to sign a 10-day contract with the Nets last February if he cleared waivers after getting released by the Nuggets, but the 76ers swooped in just before he cleared and signed him for the remainder of the season.
In 22 games with Philadelphia, the 23-year-old averaged 8.8 points and 7.7 rebounds.
