Josh Beckett had five strikeouts and one confrontation with an umpire in six sharp innings and David Ortiz homered with three RBIs to lead the visiting Boston Red Sox to an 11-2 romp over the Minnesota Twins.

Beckett (2-2) allowed two runs and five hits and jawed with plate umpire Adrian Johnson after a rough first inning. Mike Aviles went 4-for-5 with a homer and two RBIs for the Red Sox.

Rays 5, Angels 0: David Price (3-1) pitched a five-hitter for his second career shutout, and host Tampa Bay homered four times.

Orioles 2, Blue Jays 1: Tommy Hunter (2-1) allowed three hits in six innings and Matt Wieters homered off the glove of leftfielder Eric Thames for host Baltimore.

Reds 9, Giants 2: Mat Latos (1-2) finally got his first win for host Cincinnati, pitching seven shutout innings, and Brandon Phillips homered and drove in three runs.

Brewers 9, Astros 6: Rickie Weeks capped a five-run sixth inning with a three-run homer and Randy Wolf (1-2) picked up his first win of the season for host Milwaukee.

Cubs 3, Cardinals 2: Alfonso Soriano hit a game-ending RBI single in the 10th inning for host Chicago. -- AP
