Hofstra junior guard Cruz Davis was named Coastal Athletic Association Player of the Year in a vote from the conference’s 13 head coaches.

Deer Park’s Preston Edmead, a freshman guard for Hofstra, was named the CAA’s Rookie of the Year.

Hofstra is the first program in league history to have the conference’s player and rookie of the year winners.

Davis averaged a conference-best 20.3 points per game during the regular season and finished in the top three in the CAA with 4.7 assists per game. He also was named the CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Edmead was named CAA Rookie of the Week seven times during the regular season, becoming just the third CAA freshman to do so. He was ninth in the conference in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game, and fourth with 4.6 assists per game.

Stony Brook freshman guard Andrej Shoshkikj joined Edmead on the CAA’s All-Rookie team.

Davis and Stony Brook senior guard Erik Pratt were named to the All-CAA first team, and Edmead was named to the second team. Hofstra sophomore forward Joshua DeCady was named to the CAA All-Defensive team.
