It was a day for Hofstra's underclassmen to remember as freshman midfielder Ryan Rielly scored with 6:52 left in the game to lift the visiting Pride to a 7-6 win over No. 15 Harvard.

It was a much-needed win for Hofstra (2-2), which halted its losing streak at two.

Rielly was helped by fellow freshman Tyler Begley with two goals and sophomores Steve DiGiovanni and Lance Yapor, who each had a goal in the win.

Juniors Ian Braddish and Adrian Sorichetti each had a goal and an assist, and Pride goalie Andrew Gvozden had 13 saves.

"To come up here and get a win against a very good Harvard team is special," Hofstra coach Seth Tierney said. "We worked hard as a team. Our first three goals were by a freshman and a sophomore and another freshman [Rielly] scored the game-winner."

Begley scored twice and DiGiovanni had a goal 8:10 into the game to give Hofstra a 3-0 lead.

But Harvard kept it close the rest of the way and eventually tied the score at 6 with 7:34 left in the fourth on an unassisted score by Eric Slingerland.

Jeff Cohen led Harvard (2-1) with three goals and an assist, and Kevin Vaughan, Sean Mahon and Slingerland each had a score.
