Zeke Upshaw scored 19 points with eight rebounds and Jordan Allen and Dion Nesmith each had 18 points for Hofstra, which held the lead at halftime but fell to host Delaware, 86-79, Wednesday night in men's college basketball. The Blue Hens rallied and held off a late Hofstra run for the victory in a Colonial Athletic Association opener for both teams.

Hofstra went up by 12 at 11:25 of the first half and into the break leading by five at 41-36.

Devon Saddler led Delaware (9-7) with 24 points and Jarvis Threatt added 20 points and seven rebounds.

Allen was the key player for the Pride in the first half as he totaled 12 points to lead all scorers.

Delaware opened the second half with a 10-2 run over the first 3:27 to take its first lead since the score was 7-4 with 18:04 left in the first half. The run finished with an old-fashioned three-point play from Threatt.
