TOWSON, Md. — Jalen Ray’s three at the buzzer lifted Hofstra to a 76-73 win over Towson on Thursday night.

Hunter Sabety grabbed Brian Starr’s missed three, Ray took the outlet pass, dribbled to about 25 feet out and got the shot away with defenders trailing the play.

Starr made two free throws with 26 seconds left for a 73-70 lead. Justin Wright-Foreman, who scored 35 points with sixthree-pointers, tied it with his three with 17.7 seconds left.

Towson led 67-57 after Zane Martin made a pair of free throws with 5:22 left, but the Tigers committed turnovers on three straight possessions. Martin committed two of the turnovers and Wright-Foreman and Stafford Trueheart converted threes to tie it at 67. Martin made a jumper for a 71-70 lead but missed two free throws on the next possession.

Eli Pemberton scored 12 points for Hofstra (10-7, 3-2 Colonial Athletic Association) and Rokas Gustys added 10.

Justin Gorham led Towson (12-6, 2-3) with 20 points, Martin, 17 and Eddie Keith II, 10.
