Shawn Andrews was playing left tackle with the starting offense today. He was asked when that last happened.

“When I first got here,” Andrews said. “Before that it’s been since Neveruary. It’s been a long time.”

It sounds as if Adam Koets will be back in the fold in time to play on Sunday, so Andrews will likely be back to playing his tight end/backup lineman position. In fact, because of the move of Bear Pascoe to fullback, Andrews might see even more reps as a blocking tight end than he has been seeing.

But he was asked about the possibility of playing left tackle on Sunday and facing Mario Williams, a player he’ll have to face even when he comes in as the sixth lineman anyway.

Andrews laughed.

“Hey, we both put our pants on one leg at a time I suppose,” he said. “A lot of people call him Super Mario, so I don’t know exactly how he gets dressed, but he gets paid to play this game, I get paid to play this game, and it’s all business on Sunday no matter who’s lined up. It’s the NFL. I love the competition. It’ll be fun.”
