Bomar, Bear come back to Giants
A couple of players who were waived or cut by the Giants wound up elsewhere. We mentioned Andre Brown going to the Broncos and TE Scott Chandler reportedly went back to the Cowboys, siging on their practice squad. He was in Dallas before he came to the Giants.
But not everyone went elsewhere and the Giants signed seven players to their practice squad. Six of them were waived yesterday, and a seventh was waived earlier this summer (that would be rookie TE Jake Ballard).
The most important piece, of course, is Rhett Bomar. The Giants will need him around to help Sage Rosenfels get acquainted with the offense and pitch in on scout teams during this week while the Giants prepare for the regular-season opener against the Panthers.
The Giants also have one open spot on their practice squad. That was no doubt reserved for Brown. They'll probably bring someone in by tomorrow.
For now, though, here is the practice squad for the start of the 2010 season:
QB Rhett Bomar
TE Jake Ballard
TE Bear Pascoe
OL Jim Cordle
DL Nate Collins
DB Seth Williams
DB Sha'reff Rashad
