Bomar confident in Bomar, but are the Giants?

Does Rhett Bomar think he’s ready to lead the Giants should Eli Manning be unavailable?
“What do you want me to say, no?” he answered.
The question, of course, isn’t so much if Bomar thinks he’s ready. It’s if the Giants do.
They’re the ones who will make the decision whether or not they need to explore the addition of a veteran backup quarterback. Bomar gave them three quarters of football to chew on last night – 11-for-24, 171 yards with an interception and a 60-yard game-winning touchdown pass to Duke Calhoun – but came aware still uncertain of his standing.
“Who knows what they’re thinking,” he said. “I have no clue. They’re not going to give you an answer, ‘Yeah that’s enough’ or ‘No that’s not enough.’ We’ll see what happens.”
At least one Giants decision-maker liked what he saw.
“He certainly played well,” Tom Coughlin said. “He scrambled well and did some very nice things. He stood in the pocket well … There are still some things that I wish we could get corrected from a mechanical standpoint, but he’s constantly working and he did a nice job.”
