Boom goes the dynomite!
Here's a look at what happened to Texas Stadium earlier this morning:
There will be no such grand display of pyotechnics when Giants Stadium hits the ground, a process that has already begin in the inner portions of the building and will begin on the outter shell in about a month's time. Giants Stadium will instead be taken down piece by piece. I'm sure there are building ordinances and codes that prevent a big implosion, but there's also common sense involved. When you have a $1.7 billion stadium a few feet away from the old one, you probably think twice before wiriing it with explosives.
