The Giants just issued a medical update for today's OTA and it includes news that two players will undergo surgeries in the coming days.

Kevin Boss will have an arthroscopic procedure done on his right ankle to clear out debris, the team said. He's expected to miss 4-6 weeks recovering from the procedure.

And Kevin Boothe tore a pectoral muscle while working out during the week and will have to undergo surgery as well. His injury and rehab will keep him sidelined for four months, which, for those of you without calendars handy, means he'll miss the entire preseason as well as a few weeks of the regular season.

That puts Boothe in a particularly bad spot since he signed his restricted free agent tender for the 2010 season, which is a non-guarnateed contract. Guys who miss four months with non-guaranteed contracts usually aren't around for long.

Boss' surgery will be on Monday, Boothe's on Tuesday.

There's also a preliminary list of who will and won't be available to participate in today's OTA.

Brandon Jacobs (knee surgery), Justin Tuck (shoulder), Madison Hedgecock (shoulder), Shaun O'Hara (elbow), Rich Seubert (shoulder), Mario Manningham (shoulder) and Gerris Wilkinson (wrist) have been participating and are expected to today. Andre Brown (Achilles) and Jay Alford (knee), two players who missed the entire 2009 season, are also expected to participate.

Kenny Phillips (knee), Ahmad Bradshaw (both feet and one ankle), Hakeem Nicks (wrist/toe) and Rocky Bernard (shoulder) will continue their rehabilitations and not work on the field with the team.

Bradshaw and Nicks are both expected to return to the practice field within the next two weeks.
