DALLAS - Ahmad Bradshaw has no doubts that he and Brandon Jacobs can make their backfield relationship work. Splitting carries, starts and playing time, it doesn't matter to him.

But can the Giants make the relationship work on their books? Bradshaw has his doubts.

"It's just the nature of the business," he said Thursday while making the rounds on Radio Row at the Super Bowl. "You just never know what's going to happen with things. I don't think they'll be able to finance both of us. But you just never know. There's even talk that they might keep both of us."

Bradshaw is due to become a free agent March 4, but he won't be able to sign with a team until there is a collective-bargaining agreement, and a lockout seems all but certain.

Jacobs is due to earn $4.65 million in 2011, the third year of his deal. He's also been a headache at times to the Giants, grousing about his role.

Bradshaw ran for 1,235 yards and eight touchdowns in 2010 despite playing through injuries he disclosed Thursday. He said he broke his left wrist against the Jaguars in Week 12 and that he will have ankle surgery Feb. 12.

"At the end of the year, I felt a lot of easy tackles I could break at the beginning of the year, it was just bringing me down," he said. "I had to lay down on certain tackles just because it gave out on me or I felt it was about to get rolled up under me."

Bradshaw expects to be healthy when next season starts.

"I talked to the Giants on exit day and they said I was a big priority for them to come back," he said. "I'm just letting them handle it. I love New York more than anything. All I can do is hope for the best."
