Brandon Jacobs changes tune on Giants fans

Brandon Jacobs sent some verbal flowers and chocolates to Giants fans on Friday, clearly trying to make up for his recent comments that have rankled those with a rooting -- and a booing -- interest in the team.

Asked about the Giants' 2009 game in New Orleans, Jacobs offered unsolicited praise for all things New York.

"We had a bunch of fans [at that game] and I'm hoping that we have a bunch more there this time as well," he said. "We play for a good organization and a great city. New Orleans is a great city, but there's no city like New York. So we have to go out and represent for the biggest city in the world."

Jacobs later turned a question about the games played on Thanksgiving into another bouquet.

"We've got a lot of people that [are] pulling for us," Jacobs said. "We've got a lot of great fans that are out there that want us to go out there and do good. So for all the people that have supported us from day one, we've got to go out there and do our best for them."

It was only Wednesday on WFAN that Jacobs said Giants fans "kick you when you're down" and noted that their booing is detrimental to the team's success and makes the Giants feel as if they are playing on the road.

Then again, if Jacobs could change direction on the field the way he did with reporters Friday, there would be nothing for the fans to boo.
