Brandon Jacobs slams helmet, apologizes
Here's the full transcript of Brandon Jacobs' apology after the game:
"I was a little mad. To be honest with you it was a mistake. It got caught onto the sticky leather of my gloves and I did not mean to do that. Anyone who knows me knows that I did not to do something like that. The whole world could have been falling down on me and I wouldn’t have done anything like that. I would like to apologize to Indy, first of all, and their fans. Our organization. It’s just something that happened and shouldn’t have happened. Got frustrated and went to throw my helmet, put it on the bench, and caught my middle finger. It flicked up into the stands. It really was something that I didn’t mean to do and I’d like to apologize to, like I said, out organization, Indy’s, their fans. As a meaning, the apology is real. It’s not something I’m saying just because that happened. It was a mistake. It wasn’t supposed to happen. I gotta keep my cool and try not to throw my helmet anywhere. I went to throw it up against the bench and it flicked up into the stands. I apologize to the fella who caught it and also the people who were around him who were in danger. I don’t know what else to really say, but I really apologize and I’m sorry."
