INDIANAPOLIS -- Plaxico Burress already has touched down in Indy and will be in attendance at the Super Bowl.

According to his buddy Brandon Jacobs, Burress is in town and working with the NFL on "some charity stuff." And without hesitation, the running back said his former teammate will be rooting for Big Blue.

Jacobs also stood by his previous claim that Burress, who spent the past season with the Jets, will return to the Giants next season.

"I think if he stays in the area, this is where he'd want to be," Jacobs said Wednesday. "But I'm not sure. I'm just speaking from [my] thoughts. It's nothing he said to me to make me think that, but I think he will definitely be a Giant. But I gotta make sure I'm a Giant first before I speak about any of that."

During media day, Jacobs said Burress, who won a Super Bowl ring with the Giants four years ago against the Patriots, was grossly underused by the Jets and likely would be back with the Giants next season.

"How many receiving yards did he have last year?" the running back asked a reporter Tuesday. "Eight or nine touchdowns. OK? That's the magical stat, touchdowns at the end of the day. How many catches did he have? He's a starting wide receiver. [Forty-five] catches? We've got three guys, four guys on the team that have that. He's a much better wide receiver than [45] catches, I'll tell you that."
