Brown no longer alone
Andre Brown had a lot of trouble trying to find a running back who was able to overcome a ruptured Achilles tendon and return to the game. In fact, he and many of us believe the Giants’ second-year player is the first. That made it a pretty lonely prospect for Brown.
LenDale White will have no such issues looking for someone who knows what he’s going through. The Broncos running back tore his Achilles last night and will miss the upcoming season. I have no doubt that White will be in touch with Brown in the coming weeks, likely via his USC brethren in the Giants locker room like Steve Smith and Terrell Thomas.
By the way, Brown is expected to miss about two weeks of work with a turf toe injury. But he will have no problems finding players who have overcome that injury.
“To get back and work all the way back,” Brown said, shaking his head over missing time with a new injury after recovering from the Achilles. “I know it’s a preseason game but I love the game of football and I wanted to be out there with the guys."
