C.C. Brown completes the list

The Giants had nine players who were going to be unrestricted free agents this week but will wind up being restricted guys as of 12:01 Friday morning. Most of the names and their tender offers began trickling out last week. One that was missing was C.C. Brown. Many suspected he would not be offered a tender and not brought back.

But according to a report on FOXsports.com, the Giants have offered the safety a tender. It's the minimum for a player like Brown with 5 years of NFL experience -- $1.226 million -- and the Giants will receive no compenstation if another team gives him a better offer that they do not match. It's known as a "right of first refusal" tender.

So essentially the C.C. Brown is an unrestricted free agent in everything but name. He's free to negotiate (or will be on Friday) with any team he wants. And it seems doubtful that the Giants will match anything above the $1.226 million they have on the table. Besides, that money is not guaranteed. So it's a low-risk move for the Giants. They get a veteran in their offseason program and possibly at training camp. If Brown has shown improvement over last year, they can keep him. If he doesn't, they can cut him and not owe him anything.

Guy Whimper -- Original pick tender (4th), $1.176

Gerris Wilkinson -- Original pick tender (3rd), $1.176

* The Giants will receive a third round pick if another team acquires Sinorice Moss even though he was originally a second round pick.
