Coughlin must find a way to punt ... or else!

So the Giants didn’t punt on Sunday. And you think that’s a good thing?
According to the team’s recently-released notes, it was the second game in Coughlin’s 242-game NFL head coaching career (227 regular season games) in which his team did not punt. The other instance was on Oct. 20, 1996, when he was in charge of the Jaguars.
The result of that game? A loss, just like Sunday. In fact those Jaguars had six turnovers – five of them Mark Brunell interceptions – in a 17-14 loss to the Rams. Like the Giants on Sunday, they outgained their opponent by a wide margin – 538 yards to 204 in that case – but were still denied a win.
The lesson: No matter how much it hurts, the Giants MUST find a way to get Matt Dodge incorporated into the gameplan. Or something like that.
