Darrelle Revis says Odell Beckham Jr.-Josh Norman scraps were ‘crazy’

Darrelle Revis said watching Odell Beckham Jr. and Josh Norman go at it Sunday was “pretty crazy” and added that he was surprised that neither of them was ejected from the game.
“It’s must-watch TV, but at the same time, I think that incident got a little bit out of hand,” Revis told SiriusXM’s NFL Radio yesterday morning.
“It really did. I’m surprised nobody got thrown out of the game, but at the same time, I understand where both players are coming from trying to compete. It’s a lot of emotion out there on the field, but yesterday was a lot. It was a lot to see.”
Revis was able to watch the game live because the Jets played Saturday night.
He said there are always plays that go unnoticed by officials and TV cameras. He also said players have a responsibility to themselves to act a certain way.
“You definitely have to protect yourself at all times,” he said. “It’s like NASCAR playing out there sometimes. Everybody’s fast and you definitely have to protect yourself.”
Revis said it reminded him of his teenage years when he saw two other premier players square off.
“It kind of brought me back to the Deion Sanders-Andre Rison fight years back,” he said.
Still, Revis thought the Beckham-Norman actions crossed a line.
“What happened yesterday . . . I’m just surprised that somebody didn’t get thrown out of the game, or both guys. I can’t sit here and say if the refs ignored it or not. They probably tried to do the best they could, tried to defuse the situation. But it was pretty crazy, it was pretty crazy.”
