This being Tuesday, there are plenty of radio reports to listen to. Shaun O’Hara updated his injury situation a bit this morning on Sirius NFL Radio, Antrel Rolle provided some insights on WFAN around mid-day, and now David Diehl has gone on the record regarding his injury situation.
Diehl has never missed a game in his NFL career. Now that it seems like that will happen on Sunday, Diehl is hoping to keep it at just a game. Singular.
"It's my hamstring," Diehl told 1050 ESPN Radio today in his weekly spot. “I hurt my hamstring. I am just glad that it isn't my hip because if you hurt your hip then that is surgery and stuff like that. It is muscular and it will take a little time to heal up a little bit. My goal is to be back at Philadelphia next week.”
Diehl’s injury occurred while he was blocking for the extra-point that gave the Giants a 35-0 lead at halftime on Sunday.
“(I) got my leg trapped underneath when guys were pushing under me," Diehl said. "I got to do whatever I can to heal up as fast as possible.
“I'm going to try to do my best to make sure I am back," he said. "This is the first time I have been hurt. I have been able to fight through some things before. My goal is to try to come back for that [Eagles] game.”
