New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and his wife Abby welcomed their second child a little more than two weeks ago, the NFL team acknowledged Thursday.

"We welcome another Manning to the Giants family," the organization posted on its Twitter page Thursday, two hours after Us Weekly, without specifying a date or name, first reported that the Mannings had had a girl. "Eli and Abby's second daughter, Lucy Thomas, [was] born June 17, 2013," the tweet continued.

This is the couple's second child. Their daughter Ava Frances was born in March 2010.

Manning, 32 -- who helped lead the Giants to a nail-biter 21-17 Super Bowl XLVI championship over the New England Patriots in February 2012 -- and the former Abby McGrew met while students at the University of Mississippi. He proposed in March 2007 and the two married on the beach in Los Cabos, Mexico, on April 19, 2008.

Manning is the younger brother of Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, who led the Indianapolis Colts to a Super Bowl XLI championship in 2007.
