Emphasis now on the "ex" in Timex Performance Center

So much for the “keeps on tickin’” tagline.
The Giants’ training facility adjacent to MetLife Stadium will no longer be known as the Timex Performance Center. The naming rights agreement with Timex has expired, as was first reported by the Sports Business Journal and Daily, and the team will unveil the new sponsor – and new name – at a press conference scheduled for Thursday.
The Giants are scheduled to report Friday for the start of training camp at the as-yet-unnamed facility.
The Giants have called their new collaboration with the mystery company “a major and long-term partnership announcement focused on player health and well-being.” So it would seem that the Papa John’s Training Center is off the list.
A good guess might be the Hackensack University Medical Center, which is already a Giants sponsor with its logo on the background for some press conferences.
The most amazing part of this story is that the Giants have been in their facility for four years. I had tried unsuccessfully to have the Timex Performance Center known as “The Watchtower,” but it never caught on. TPC seemed to be the way most people referred to it. Now, we’ll have to find a new nickname.
The Hack? Could be. We’ll brainstorm some more tomorrow.
By the way, whoever gets the naming rights to the facility will get a pretty good publicity boost in February. The NFC representative in Super Bowl XLVIII will be preparing for the game at the _____ Training Center.
