Just when it seemed Perry Fewell was staying with the Giants, he's on the go again. This time he's a candidate for the vacant head coaching job with the Titans, who have asked for and received permission from the Giants to interview the defensive coordinator.
Fewell had been linked to nearly every open head coaching job in the league last month and interviewed with the Panthers, Broncos and Browns. Those jobs went to others and Fewell was, according to sources, content to remain with the Giants as their coordinator. But then the Titans and Jeff Fisher parted ways last week, creating another opportunity for Fewell.
Fewell will interview by the end of the week, according to a league source.
The Titans have two in-house candidates: offensive line coach Mike Munchak, reportedly the favorite, and offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger. The team confirmed it has already interviewed Munchak and Heimerdinger. Another candidate is Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey, who has groomed quarterback Matt Ryan.
