Ben McAdoo has added a second new face to his Giants coaching staff with the addition of Frank Cignetti Jr., who will be the quarterbacks coach. Cignetti, who was fired as Rams offensive coordinator in December, was an offensive coordinator at Rutgers in 2011. He was a coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania when McAdoo was a student there in the late 1990s.
Cignetti joins wide receivers coach Adam Harvey as newcomers to a staff that is retaining more than a few coaches from Tom Coughlin’s crew. Steve Spagnuolo and Tom Quinn are expected to return as defensive and special teams coordinators, respectively, while Mike Sullivan is expected to be named offensive coordinator after a year as quarterbacks coach. McAdoo is also retaining running backs coach Craig Johnson, tight ends coach Kevin M. Gilbride, cornerbacks coach Tim Walton and safeties coach Dave Merritt.
