PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Giants are expected to reach agreement on a contract extension for coach Tom Coughlin within the next several weeks.
"We've had some good discussions, and we'll have more," Giants president and co-owner John Mara said Tuesday at the NFL owners' meetings.
Mara said he estimated it would take another month or two to work out a final agreement. He did not say how many years it would last or how much Coughlin, 65, would be paid.
Coughlin agreed last year on a one-year extension through the 2012 season, but after winning his second Super Bowl title in the last five seasons, he will receive a handsome raise and extra years on the deal.
