Jon Beason will miss his second straight game recovering from the foot and toe injury that flared up after he played in the first two games of the season.

The Giants' defensive captain and middle linebacker was listed as doubtful for Thursday's game against Washington after having been limited in practices during the short week. There was a feeling that Beason would be able to play due to the natural grass at FedEx Field, but he never even came on the field during warmups to test the injury.

Jameel McClain will start in Beason's place. Mark Herzlich will get a second straight start at outside linebacker.

The other inactive players for the Giants are WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring), LB Devon Kennard (hamstring), OL Charles Brown (shoulder), OL James Brewer (back), DT Jay Bromley and DE Kerry Wynn.
