Giants putting Eagles win behind them

Tom Coughlin made a concerted effort even in the moments after the big over the Eagles to put the emotional victory behind the team and move forward. This week, Coughlin is still guarding against a letdown after the rousing win in Philly.

“Last week’s win is over,” he said. “That game is over. It’s a new week, a new game, a new team. The same type of preparation, the same kind of focus, the same kind of appealing to the professionalism of the athlete knowing that you can’t go into a game with great confidence unless you’re well prepared.”

The Giants haven’t played the Cardinals since 2008.

“We don’t know this team very well,” Coughlin said. “It’s been a couple of years since we’ve played them so there has to be extra time and effort put into it.”
