Lots of Giants fans were sad to see old Giants Stadium reduced to a parking lot. Even Phil Simms this week spoke fondly of the hard Astroturf and cold and wind that were hallmarks of the old place.

But I know a few people who might be even sadder to show up this week and see that Giants Stadium is no more: The Bears.

The Bears NEVER lost at Giants Stadium during the regular season. That’s right, NEVER. Their last road loss to the Giants was on Oct. 5, 1969 at Yankee Stadium. They made a trip back to Yankee Stadium in 1970 that they won, and then they won games at Giants Stadium in 1977, 1995, 2004 and 2006. This, of course, will be their first game at New Meadowlands Stadium.

Playoffs, though, are a different matter. The Giants beat the Bears 31-3 in Chicago’s only postseason appearance at Giants Stadium, a 1990 NFC Divisional Game.

But this isn’t a playoff game. And this isn't Giants Stadium either.
