Giants still think Michael Vick is dangerous, even if Eagles don't

Tom Coughlin declined to answer any Eagles questions on Monday, saying he would talk about the upcoming opponent on Wednesday. Perhaps he’s just waiting for them to name a starting quarterback.

The Giants returned to work from their weekend off to find that the Eagles are at least considering a change at quarterback. Andy Reid dropped a two-sentence bombshell on Monday when asked about the status of the struggling Michael Vick as the starting quarterback.

“Right now, we're with Michael,” Reid said. “We’ll evaluate it as we go.”

Eagles’ rookie Nick Foles was impressive in the preseason and would be the backup if the Eagles pulled Vick, who is responsible for nine of the team’s 12 turnovers through the first three games. Vick has completed 55.2 percent of his passes this season for three touchdowns and six interceptions and he’s been sacked nine times. His passer rating this season is 66.3.

The Giants still see Vick as a dynamic player … even if the Eagles don’t.

“I saw some plays in that game (against the Cardinals on Sunday) where he still looks the same and he got out of the pocket and started running,” Justin Tuck said. "But it's tough. He's had some injuries on the o-line and guys are getting some clean shots on him and obviously, that's going to take a toll on any player. Not only him. But I think he still is one of the most dangerous people on the football field.”
