Tom Coughlin, president John Mara and general manager Jerry Reese addressed the media Tuesday after Coughlin announced Monday that he'd be stepping down as the team's head coach.

Coughlin won two Super Bowls in 12 seasons with the Giants, but they finished with a losing record for the third straight season and missed the playoffs for a fourth consecutive year. He said he doesn't know what's next for him, but he will devote time to his charitable foundation, The Jay Fund.

An emotional Coughlin thanked all of his fellow Giants employees: "We all bleed blue together."

Mara said Coughlin was everything he could have asked for in a head coach and asked if he'd stay on in some capacity. Coughlin said he'd consider.

Mara said he still has faith in Reese, who took full responsibility for the team's personnel decisions, which led them to a 6-10 finish.
