The Giants have been locked into third place for the last few weeks. Now they know that will earn them a third-place schedule.

The end of the regular season brings clarity to the two opponents on the 2015 slate who had been undetermined. The Giants will host the third-place team from the NFC West, which turned out to be the 49ers, and travel to the third-place team in the NFC North, which is the Vikings.

Besides the six division games and those two, the Giants will play at New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Buffalo and Miami. They will host Atlanta, Carolina, New England and the Jets.

Oh, and while we're looking towards next season: The Giants will have the ninth pick in April's draft after finishing tied with Atlanta and St. Louis at 6-10. Even though the Giants beat both of those teams head-to-head, Atlanta gets the eighth pick based on strength of schedule, followed by the Giants and then St. Louis.

The Giants haven't had a top 10 pick in the draft since 2004, when they selected Philip Rivers with the fourth overall selection and traded him and other picks to the Chargers for Eli Manning.
