Brandon Jacobs called his touchdown run in the third quarter last night “the first of many” he intends to score this season. If that’s true, then he should hold the team record for most rushing touchdowns in a career by the time the season is over.
Last night’s touchdown was the 50th of Jacobs’ career, breaking a tie for second place on the all-time list with Rodney Hampton at 49. The only player ahead of him on the list now is Tiki Barber, who had 55 rushing touchdowns.
Here’s the list of the top seven in Giants history:
| Tiki Barber | 55 |
| Brandon Jacobs | 50 |
| Rodney Hampton | 49 |
| Joe Morris | 48 |
| Alex Webster | 39 |
| Ottis Anderson | 35 |
| Frank Gifford | 34 |
Of course Tiki also had 12 receiving touchdowns to go with his 55 rushing ones, which places him sixth on the all-time team list in scoring with 416 points (he had four two-point conversions and a two-point return mixed in there). Jacobs has three receiving TDs. Frank Gifford is the team’s all-time leading offensive scorer with 484 points on 78 touchdowns plus a few FGs, PATs and a two-point return.
