Brandon Jacobs started off his media session today not with foul language, but with an aplogy to, well, just about everybody. Here's what he said:

"I want to start by saying to you guys [in the media], for the last month, it hasn’t been so pleasant dealing with me. I've been in a state of mind where I hated all of you guys and I apologize to each and every one of you for acting the way I've been acting the last month or so.

"Secondly I want to apologize to my teammates for putting them in a position to have to answer questions about me. To our organization for the same thing, for answering questions about me when they have other things that they need to be focusing on.

"And the Indianapolis Colts and their fans for the incident. I didn’t mean for that to happen. I was angry. I shouldn’t have thrown the helmet to begin with no matter where it wound up. That Colts fan who caught it, I apologize to him and his family as well and everyone else who was in the area who could have been harmed.

"Those are my apologies and I mean them 100 percent."

As for his conversations with Tom Coughlin and Jerry Reese, Jacobs said he was happy to finally have a reason for the switcheroo at starting running back expalined to him.

"We got it all out of the way and now it's time to go out and play football," he said. "I'm absolutely in the right frame of mind."
