Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie doesn’t think he’ll be overwhelmed by the athleticism of Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry this week because he faces that kind of player just about every day in practice.
“The good thing we have is we go against it and see it so much in practice, you’re not at ‘Wow!’ ” Rodgers-Cromartie said on Thursday, referring to teammate Odell Beckham Jr.. “All you can do is get up there and challenge the guy. He makes the tough catches, you just have to make it tougher for him. Don’t shy away from it because he has that ability. You embrace it and just go out there and play.”
Prince Amukamara, the other starting cornerback, agreed.
“They are pretty much similar, especially with ‘catchability’ and just the type of flair that they bring to the game,” Amukamara said. “It’s going to be exciting.”
Landry and Beckham are close friends and former college teammates.
“You have to challenge him,” Rodgers-Cromartie said. “At the end of the day you know what he’s capable of.”
